Memorizing Scripture

I was doing my quiet time this morning, and the Lord really spoke to me about my inability to effectively memorize Scripture. Why is it that I can remember the name of just about every guy who comes to our men’s gathering on Thursday mornings (about 150 guys), and greet them by name, but I have such difficulty holding on to God’s word?  Actually, I probably know the answer - it’s because it’s foundational to my faith, and the Enemy knows that. He wants to do everything in his power to keep me from being grounded in truth (he is the father of lies, after all). This is an area of my life that I need to give up and give to the Lord, and ask Him for his power to help me.

I found a website a little while ago that has a method for memorizing Scripture, but I’m curious - do you struggle in this area too, and if so, is there any technique or process you use that helps you hold on to God’s word?
