Candidates’ stand on healthcare

No, I’m not going to open that powderkeg of a topic today; however, I was curious as to what each of the four remaining Presidential candidates said about the issue of overall health and fitness. So I went out to each of the candidates’ websites, and started searching for info. What I found was a lot of information about their stand on healthcare, but not a lot about health and fitness. One candidate talked about personal responsibility in the whole healthcare equation, but that’s as close it anyone got to saying that each person has a responsibility to do whatever they can to maintain their own health, whether it be through regular exercise, eating right, and getting enough sleep. It seems that nearly all of the candidates talk a lot about what the government should do in the event you get sick, but I didn’t find anything about their positions on not getting sick in the first place. Preventative medicine, maintaining good health, eating right, getting enough sleep and exercise, etc., may not be a sexy topic, but imagine how much money we could save as individuals and as a country if everyone really got in shape?

So again, I’m not going to endorse a particular candidate, but I urge you to take a look at their websites and let me know if you see something there about prevention and good health that I might be missing.
