Sunday Stars for June 29th

2008 June 29

I got up early to go run before church, and it’s raining. Hopefully I can go later today, but to fill the time right now, I’m going to go ahead and post some of the articles I’ve starred in Google Reader this week:

  • The 7th Edition of the Manival - I’m assuming that a ‘Manival’ is something like a carnival. In any case, The Simple Marriage Project website has their own listing of links of interest to men, on a variety of topics.
  • When Is Good: The Bare-bones Meeting Scheduler - I hate it when I have to pass emails back and forth to determine the best time to meet with someone. TechCrunch has highlighted this simple but effective website that can help cut down the frustration.
  • Removing the Wrong People - Some great advice from Pastor Craig Groeschel of LifeChurch about making the tough decisions related to people who don’t have a good fit for their position.
  • Forester’s Spicy Hot Dog Onion Sauce - I don’t know why, but this looked really good the day I read it - still does, actually. Since I’m still doing low-carb, it’s definitely something I can have, so I might have to try it out for 4th of July.
  • The Gentleman’s Guide to Tipping - This is a pretty all-inclusive list of the do’s and don’ts for tipping, from The Art of Manliness website.
  • Church via Holographic Telepresence Video - Now I know that satellite churches, where the pastor is broadcast live via satellite to multiple locations, is all the rage, I think there would be something really odd about seeing a 3-D image of your pastor up on the stage….
  • Wave Jumper - If life has got you in some deep waters right now, the worst thing you can do is thrash around and try to jump the waves yourself.
