30 miles in 30 days - goal reached

It’s always great to have some type of goal established, whether it be related to fitness, our diet, our relationship with God or our families, etc. Back in June, I had a goal to run a 5K, which I accomplished on June 14th. However, just because that particular goal was reached, doesn’t mean that the goalsetting is over. In order for me to stay challenged and focused, I need to create new goals. Now, they don’t need to be stupendously harder than the first, nor should they be exactly the same - you know you can reach it, so what would be the challenge in that? So on June 21st, a week after the 5K, I set a new goal - run a total of 30 miles in 30 days. That may not seem like a challenge to some of you, but for me, it was - it meant I needed to be diligent and consisent in my running, and since I only run 3 times a week, I had to do at least 2 miles each time. So I went into MapMyFitness, created the goal, and then began reaching for it.

And I’m happy to report that as of this past Monday, my goal was reached!  I ran a total of 32.66 miles, beating my goal by 2.66 miles. It feels great to know that I could accomplish it, and so I’ll bask in that for a little while, but only for a little while. Then it’s on to the next goal, whatever that may be.

But for now, my main goal is getting across the very wide state of Nebraska, on our way to vacation in Colorado. After I get back, I’ll figure out what my next goal should be.

Do any of you have any ideas for my next goal, or do you currently have any exercise or diet goals of your own?
